Avoid the highways next weekend (Aug 14-15)

There's a Phish concert next weekend in Coventry, VT. 70,000 people are expected to make a mess of the highways for this Aug 14-15 event.

Watch out on the roads northbound Thursday and Friday, and southbound Sunday.

Coventry is only 10 miles from the VT/CA border, so I-91 and I-93 will be trafficked for their entire lengths. As Arm pointed out on VFTT, getting through Franconia Notch (which, dammit, I have to do Friday night!) may truly suck.

After moving from the NEK down to hear, I've learned that getting anywhere into VT or NH from Boston is an absolute joke :angry:

I'm supposed to drive up to Boothbay Harbor this weekend. I'll leave from work in Ipswich to go home to Dover NH to meet the family then drive up.

I just heard already at noon there is a 3 mile backup at the Hampton Tolls. *sigh* :roll:

SmarTraveler sez it's only 1/4 mile. But just looking outside here I can already see Rte 128 north slogging down (at Rte 2).
