Apparently Sony used a fake critic to praise these films and some viewers found out, filing a class action suit. If you saw these movies, you can get $5 back

Yeah, right...I always keep movie ticket stubs from several years ago... :roll:

How much does everyone listen to movie critics anyway? In many cases, if a critic pans a movie then it's not all that good, but I've had my share of movies where my impressions don't match what the critics said.

If I successfully prove I saw the movie why would I only get $5 back? Since tickets are around $10 are they assuming I walked out half way through the film?

Sony Pictures declined comment. The studio did not admit any liability under terms of the settlement.

pfffffffffffffffft. $1.5 mil is a drop in the bucket for these guys any ways.

any one who listened to a fake critic in making their decision to see any of those movies deserves to be out the cost of admission any ways. c'mon, i don't care who said "a knight's tale" was the best blockbuster of the year, it looked like it sucked so therefore... too bad!

i actually do "listen" to some critics. the important thing about listening to critics is consistantly listen to the same one's who are consistant in their opinions. get to know their bias and preference and react accordingly. for example, i know of one critic that slams every movie i love so i look for negative reviews from that particular critic. another critic prefers things that are excessively artsy for it's own sake, so i am cautious with those movies until i know whether the movie has a plot and story to make the artistry worth seeing. etc.
