HIGHMOUNT, New York — The third annual Belleayre Mountain Cardboard Classic boasted a record 37 entries made entirely of cardboard and duct tape. Spectators lined the course to watch the antics.

Centerport Fire Department from Long Island was the crowd pleaser for the second year in a row. This four-man team took all top honors as the firemen in full gear piled into their cardboard rendition of a fire engine. Their creation took twelve man-hours and ten rolls of duct tape to complete.

Last-minute entrants were able to build sleds on the spot with supplies provided by Belleayre Mountain. Prizes were awarded by a team of three judges for Most Creative, Best Run and Best Crash.
