Snow Conditions
  1. Chopped or Crud
The storm has sent Berkshire East back to square one, bare earth everywhere except for the open trails Mohawk, Big Chief, Lower Comp, Outback->War Dance. Solid coverage on those trails. Lower Mohawk closed. Very top of Big Chief closed (above the 1st merge with Mohawk). Official trail report incorrectly lists Outback as closed. Lots of marbles / death cookies on Big Chief, and to a lesser extent on Mowhawk and Lower Comp, but snow was soft enough that they could be plowed through. Look out when it freezes over. Best conditions were on Outback->War Dance, but a fair number of beginners to contend with. They still have a ways to go on constructing the cabanas in front of the lodge and it’s already almost January.

Flying Cloud was real nice a week ago. Still looks nice...if you have a bike.
