Hi everyone! I am planning 6 weeks of backpacking around New England, with the hopes that trips will be 3-5 days or so with breaks to restock, shower, etc. We will have a car, and will have 2 dogs that are great hikers. The time spans from mid-July to mid-August.
We are from the area and have done several hikes on the AT, off the Kancamagus Highway, in Acadia, Long Trail, etc. Had planned an extended trip elsewhere that fell through, so we're trying to fill the time off of work with gas-friendly and cost-efficient exploring of the mountains around here.
Any suggestions for loop hikes? Tips? Rustic campgrounds? Other sites to visit or books to check out?
