Well, I got tired of the media sensationalism always keepnig shortcuts and not checking facts. Now that the Olympics are here, we'll get to hear a lot more.

Recently Canadian skier Erik Guay surpassed Crazy Canuck Steve Podborski lifetime podium count. Hard to compare one era of skiing with the next. I guess it is like comparing Wayne Gretzky with past great like Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe or Rocket Richard. Most career points don't alwats tell the story. With that in mind, I decided to compare all of Canada top ski racers. Who is the top Canadian racer of All Time ?http://madpatski.wordpress.com/2014/02/08/who-is-canadas-best-skier-of-all-time/

At one point, I'd like to do the same exercise for the US Ski racers.

Little bit of thread drift, but was at Tremblant this past March and got my kids a private lesson with a tremendous instructor who my kids loved. She taught my kids a ton and it was amazing how much better they were just 3 hours later. Turned out that instructor is Erik Guay's Mom. Now my kids root for Guay!

That's pretty cool.

Erik's two brother also made the National Team at one point, but didn't Erik's success. Not really surprising that the whole family are excellent skiers given their parents' passion for the sport. Elene is a ski instructor, while Conrad Guay was ski school director at Tremblant for 14 years. Conrad Guay is part of the CSIA's (Canadian Ski Instructor Alliance) Hall of Fame.

Here is the info on dad:
Conrad Guay has been a member of the Alliance since 1968. He was the Ski School Director in Mont-Tremblant from 1975 to 1989. Interski counted Conrad amongst its team in 1975. Conrad also coached the Interski Team in 1983 and 1987. At the time of Conrad's induction into the CSIA Hall of Fame, he was coaching the National Ski Team.
