There are tons and tons of ski movies ut there but what are some of the best EAST-COAST (non terrain park/pipe) based ski movies... I've personally never seen one based on the east coast, only segments and most are park pipe based segments... I have seen some with footage around stowe but never a whole movie based on the East..

Only one I've seen is Born From Ice, which I purchased before the start of last season. I definitely want all of the Meathead films. I could take or leave the party scenes, but in general I find myself more excited about Meathead ski films than any other out there simply because of the footage location being in our backyards.

I think every west coast snob out there should be forced to watch the meathead films.

It would be cool if the guys at Warren Miller Entertainment could combine clips from the east shot over the past few decades and put them together in one video...that would be mad steezy yo. Props to the Meatheads for hitting a niche market of extreme-type Eastern Skiers and Riders..

The island of misfit toys.
Epoch is another great Meatheads film. Not the typical fare, but a psuedo documentary.

From their web site:

"Epoch" takes the viewer on a facinating and breathtaking tour through five states as the Meathead crew climbs and skis the highest mountain in each. Discover the history behind the settling, hiking, and early skiing on all the peaks. Find out what it meant to be a skier on the East Coast before the rope tow and the ski lift. See the adventure of a lifetime as seven friends set out to explore some of the East's most remote and legendary backcountry locations.

i wish the meatheads had more riding. there are 0 movies about east coast riding

actually someone posted a movie they did on here this spring that was 100% east coast riding. They actually got ripped a bit, well not really ripped, but some of us wanted to see more than just park footage. The entire movie was all park footage with some cool stuff, but the overwhelming opinion on here was that it was a movie shot on the east coast of east coast riders, but it wasn't necessarily about east coast riding. It could've been park video shot in Colorado or anyplace really.

Probably not what you're looking for, but your post reminded me of the subject.

I subscribed to their podcast thing and watched all the vids they had in there the past 2 days... They got some good stuff in there...

I also subscribe to the TGR / Level 1 / PBP / and a few other podcasts... they make for good time wasting when you got the ski jones!!

The meathead films were better in the past. They have lost their all around talents like Simon Thomson. Andrew Whiteford does rip though and local talents like Jay Bowen-Stowe (just finished battling throat cancer) and the Asia gal-JAy help drown out the large park pressence in their newer films. There is so much of that I can take. The funny part of the Wanderland film was the Mike Evon guy, the Groomer operator at Stowe, he said his parents met over breakfast at McCarthy's (maybe), talked about being a local kid etc.. He grew up in Coastal Maine.
