BMC Racemachine RM01/SRAM Red Complete Bike - 2012

The combination of SRAM's Red group with BMC's Race Machine RM01 results in a bicycle that'll dominate the local crit circuit or catapult you to the KOM on your next gran fondo. While the SLR01 represents the pinnacle of BMC's offerings, the BMC Racemachine provides the greatest performance return per investment dollar.
Designed for racing, the RM01 puts you in a powerful and efficient aerodynamic position. This also means it has a carefully designed carbon layup that ensures low weight, strength, and stiffness where you want it. A mix of high-modulus carbon and high-tensile material perfectly balances strength, durability, and weight. High-modulus carbon fiber is strong and stiff, but relatively brittle. So BMC mixes in lower modulus, high-tensile fiber to aid in durability. Together, it creates a bike frame that possesses all the right characteristics.
As stability is paramount to BMC, they use a tapered 1-1/8in to 1-1/4in steerer tube. This lends stiffness for stability through high-speed turns and on rough pavement, but it's still comfortable because of BMC's Tuned Compliance Concept (TCC). BMC engineers created zones in the fork legs where the material and shapes are selected to provide a degree of compliance, while maintaining the torsional and lateral stiffness you need for uncompromising performance and precise steering. The RM01 seatpost also features their Tuned Compliance Concept. In other words, the Race Machine is easy on your body in the bumps, but still extremely stiff when cranking out the watts.
One feature you can't miss on the RM01 is the Integrated Skeleton Concept (ISC) at the seat tube junction. While some might see it as an aesthetic flair, the truth is there's a strong practical reason for it. Advanced computer analysis allows BMC to fine tune both the shapes and the layup to maximize stiffness while minimizing weight. Continuing this fixation with optimization, all the cables run externally, which is lighter and provides better function than most efforts at internal routing.
The RM01 features a full SRAM Red group for the drivetrain, with the exception being the SRAM Force cassette and TRP brakes. The wheels are Easton EA90 SLs with black spokes and Continental Ultra Race Tires. The cockpit was built with an Easton EC90 SLX3 handlebar, Easton EA70 stem, BMC Racepost carbon with 15mm offset, and a Fi'zi:k Antares 2 Manganese saddle.
The BMC Racemachine RM01/SRAM Red Complete Bike - 2012 is available in Red and in sizes 47cm and 50cm.
