23 lifts? What are they nuts? Someone's got their numbers mixed with trail count, perhaps.
And Sugarloaf is over an hour farther from Montreal.but the area is the same distance from Boston as Sugarloaf is.
I wouldn't invest my own money in this project, but I think that the theory is that if they make it into something much bigger then it will be a true destination resort that will draw people in. If Les pulls it off and builds a new modern ski area it would really hurt Sunday River. They are only fifty miles apart (I thought they were closer, but everything is far from anything up there). It would also hurt Saddleback and Sugarloaf. There is obviously a limited market for the NE destination resorts. Didn't know about that road. I was thinking you'd have to drive down to Lancaster then across on rt. 2It's fifty miles by road. More like 40 as the crow flies. About 5 years ago I took some time off between jobs and spent a lot of time in Colebrook, NH. There is a good road that goes to Sunday River (that I had never been on). It goes through Dixville Notch were the Balsams is and Grafton
