Buy this year if your a newbie and ski for the rest of the year after the 23rd, plus next year. Buy early and pass less. I love marketing when it saves me money.

I wonder if some of the Bost folks go for this. Gives them a ski option for April vacation.

For me this is the perfect pass.:snow: I see some Loon day trips, stop at Loon on the way to the River. Sneaking out on Friday is on the agenda again next season.

This is so, so, close to perfect for me. The only drawback is that Loon is the only easily day-trippable resort on the list for us. SR is best for a full weekend, and the 'Loaf takes a 3-day weekend or a serious lack of sleep. If they had one more location closer to home, (or if we owned a place up there!) I'd be warming up the credit card.

I'm just glad to see an agressive approach by the folks in the eat. Wildcat always has some nice promo deals. I see the boston market getting alot of attention. Trying to get folks on 95 not 89.

The Loon option back means I'll get another 10 days a year in. 1/2 days or day trips. For me Loon is a perfect 10 to 15 day a year mountain. Ski the River one day Loon the other. Gorham nh has cheap places to stay. Helps break up the ride. I did it when I had both passes.

That's pretty good. If I renew now it'll only be a $50 increase over what I paid last year plus I get Loon too. I remember when they first acquired Loon the New England pass was going to be a $200 increase for Silver pass holders.

Gorham motor inn on RT 2. $48 Maddison Motel same price range. nothing fancy. i know a couple of SR folks who use it. 800-445-0913 It is near the train track, but I live near a train track.

Walking distance to fast food a couple of rest and lounges. A few more pricey options furthur up Rt 2 before cumbi's.

Town and country is nice across from the golf coarse that is more money, but big rooms, pool. rest all there. Stayed there. Only one section of the hotel has the pool. other areas you have to leave the buiding to get to the pool.

Thanks for the info. I actually stayed at Gorham Motor Inn for one night last week. I don't think I'll go back there but maybe I'll try Maddison Motel next time. There was a place farther up Rt.2 (in Shelburne I believe) that said $38 on their sign but it looked like it wasn't even open. There were lights on but the snow wasn't even shoveled in front of the office door.

I had a coupon for the Town and Country, I think it was $58 or $59. I should've stayed there. That looked like a nice place.

Oh yeah, that pizza place across from Sears was a great place to eat.

Good news from Sunday River

I emailed a question to SR today. I asked if existing Maine Pass holders who upgraded to the New England Pass can ski Loon for free after March 23rd. Their response was all passholders can ski free at Loon after March 23rd. Just bring your pass to the ticket window and they'll give you a ticket for the day.

I'm taking the last week of March off from work so it looks like I'll have to hit Loon a couple of days. I've never skied there before so it should be fun. Pray for snow.

It a pretty good deal. same thing for Threedom current holders. They can go to the river and the Loaf after March 23rd.

from faq on the river board.

Q: Can 2007-08 pass holders visit all three resorts this season beginning March 23, 2008 also?

Yes, 2007-08 Maine Pass and Threedom Pass holders can use their current season pass at all three resorts beginning March 23, 2008 through the end of the 2007-08 season. Passes are valid the same days at all three resorts, for example a midweek season pass is valid only midweek at each resort.
