Well this was the one we had been waiting for...woke up to 10+ inches (exceeding the previous nights forecast by at least 3 inches) and it kept snowing all day long.

From Thurs PM through Friday PM the snow total was 17+. Got to the mountain right at 8:30, and already it was crowded, perhaps to be expected.

We immediately made our way to the T-Bar, which, predictably (perhaps?) was still closed, as we heard avalanche charges going off above us. We skied a few runs on the steepest trails we could find on Peak 8, not wanting to stray and hopeful that we could catch either the T Bar or the 6 Chair right when they opened. We were lucky and caught the 6 chair pretty early, early enough to watch people ski freshies with face shots right under the lift, and early enough to catch some of our own. We lapped a few times, and even though lift lines got long,

we were still catching plenty of pockets of fresh, and listening to people literally whoop it up from both the chair and the trail. A little while later, they opened up Imperial Chair, and though the lines were again long, we lapped a bunch,

Can a mod embed these for me?

and then hit Whale's Tail for a small cornice entrance

and some fun snowtoo. Finally, in the early afternoon stuff started to get a tad tracked, so we took a quick lunch. In the afternoon we skied some pow bumps on Peak 9,

and the sun briefly came out

and made for some vivid lighting

Later, we lapped the mini-park a few times for sh!ts and giggles (legs were done by this point). We quit whent the lifts stopped, had a couple apres beers, and went home to pack with tired legs and great memories

Nice report. I was at Winter Park that day with 19 new just overnight plus some from thursday. I crashed several times one which badly warped my naxo bindings. Thank god I had backup skis in the car! Good to see you got some good stuff before leaving.
