Another spectacular day with the kids. We had to drive to Albany to pick up my wife at the train station in the evening, and Bromley was having a "Family Friday" special, so we left a bit early
We skied from noon to 4, with the first two hours in glorious sun, and the last two under overcast skies with biting wind. Mountain had a decent crowd due to multiple promotions happening. Mothers skied for $15 if they brought a picture of their child, and families who brought the children like me, paid $44 for the adult ticket plus only $15 a piece for each child.
The snow was amazing, lots of chopped powder and soft moguls. We started with Sunder and another bump trail on that side to get sweaty and fight away the wind chill, then hit the Plunge, which is a great tree trail. Plenty of untracked in there, but also enough tracks that I could handle it with my mid-level powder abilities. Kids were kind enough to stop and wait for me a couple times.
Next we hit up the boarder/skier cross track, and my kids rode a t-bar for the first time in thier life. It brought back good memories of my formative skiing years at Dry Hill Ski Area in Watertown, NY back in the 80s.
We also checked out the Avalanche glades...another great area of trees, more thinned and less steep that the Plunge.
I think Bromley must be just about the best family area around. This was my third time skiing there, wildly different conditions each time, and it has never disappointed.
