Jones Snowboards All Mountain Twin. Jones Flagship. Jones Hovercraft. That will do it. Best boards ever. I rode a Burton T6 today after riding Jones All Mountain Twin for a few weeks. Two different shapes so you will need to figure out what you are looking for. Camber or rocker. The All Mountian Twin, and other Jones Snowboards are hybrids of Camber and Rocker with Magna Traction. Remember Jeremy is a New England boy originally.

I have a Custom X. Vapor. Custom. I am a total board junkie. Its my outlet. I love the stiffness of the X. Favorite all time board is the 2003 Custom. The Channel in Burton boards is a totally different feeling for me. The Burton pucks and 4x4 standard mounts are my favorite. All fun and all cool. I switch boards up too much I think. Throws off my game. I was all over the place today with the T6. Again I swear by Magna Traction. Burton's Frostbite is a renamed feature from years ago. Pressure Distribution Edges. Still work but not as well as Magna.

I love all my Burton Gear and would suggest checking out thier product line, I own a Burton X8 155 as my fast cruiser/carver (Camber)...A Burton Roadsoda 152 as my inbetween park/cruiser (V-rocker)...and my Daily Driver is a Burton Nug 146 (SMASHES ANYTHING and is also V-rockered). also figure out if your feeling Camber or Rocker...if your not a bif freestyler or park rider maybe camber is right for you. I also love the EST binders as they eliminate all the hard plastic materials from beneath your feet giveing you much more board feel and control, it also give you MANY more stance options!.

I have a 161.5 Lib Tech TRice board -- love it so far.... last board was a GNU AG, also a really fun board. Both of those are much more fun in moguls than my first board (a K2 165 Nemesis)

If you can demo a Lib Tech or GNU, it may be worth it... K2 has some nice boards for bombing and going fast... Burton, I feel like there higher end stuff is great -- low->mid more geared towards entry level. I wanted to give Winterstick a shot, but havent yet.....

Just pick any board off the shelf at the local shop.. Some thread where people just list off brand names won't help much.

If you want to actually make an educated decision you could try out some boards on the snow first. Unless you know the person offering the advice is a similar rider with similar stance/weight/height it's not all that useful to know what other people like.

I'm looking to buy a new snowboard. What would everyone recommend? What I'm looking for:
155cm to 157cm
All mountain
Intermediate to advanced

Not enough info...

Weight?
Type of terrain?
Carving? Slide around?
Home mountain?
Snowpark?
Trees?

What's your definition of "intermediate to advanced"?

I agree that is the reality of what you will most likely get-- but if u have some board lengths and ideas of what you would like in your next board-- you'll be more prepared to pull the trigger walking into the shop... Demo or borrow friends boards for a run or two.... I've had lists of 5-10 boards, and if I find one in the shop at a good price close to what want, sold.

What do you like in a board currently? Do you like railing carves or buttering boxes, etc. I currently would only look at Salomon or Never Summer boards. Best construction, will last the longest, dampest boards out there.

I personally think rocker is a fad that will fade away back to camber. Rocker is awesome in pow, but everywhere else it is secondary to camber. Unfortunately, Never Summer pretty much only offers some form of rocker in its boards, but there are options that are still pretty close and nothing on the market comes close to their durability. Three year warranty, built in the US. My Titan has over 600 days and still rides like new. Im not kidding, it really is unbelievable how well the Never Summer boards are built.

Salomon still makes cambered boards in the Burner and Mans Board. The Burner is a pure free ride board and what I currently ride. In my opinion the BEST freeride board on the market today hands down. I have yet to ride a board with the speed and response of this one. The mans board is another great cambered board that has more of an all mountain twin shape. Good Wood winner for this year.

You can't go wrong with a Burton Custom. I've ridden a couple different years and they've all been awesome. Carves like a scalple, super stable at speed, and super fun pop.

However, fact is, there's a lot of quality stuff out there. Check out Sierra snowboards at TRUSNOW.com. They buy decks from Burton and other manufacturers and put their own graphics on them. So you can save some money there if you don't really care about looking steezy.

Thanks a lot everyone for the advice. I gone to a few shops and talked to some of my friends. And it seems like the burton custom X is going to be the best choice for me.

I have a 10 years old b custom. Good board. Don't know what kinda rider you are but would recommend trying a lib tech board with btx. Big noticeable difference if you ask me.
