Welch-Dickey is right there and is a classic short loop. Osceola is nice if you want an easier 4k'er with good views. Tecumseh is kind of a boring trail with limited views for the effort unless you take the Sosman Trail but you might as well head up Osceola for a better hike and views any ways. Plenty of hikes to the south along the Sandwich range too. Certainly no shortage of hikes in that area. Name what type of terrain and length interests you and you will probably receive a few more suggestions.

Cheers

thanks a lot. I'm taking my girlfriend and possibly a few stragglers (none which hike often) I was thinking welsh/dickey b/c it isn't a 4ker. (I've been on a kick since doing my first two 4k'ers and would love to do one but i think id scare some of the rest away.) Basically looking for a decent hike thats not overly steep that a few non hikers can do(most are in decent shape)

Quite frankly, I didn't find Osceola much more challenging than Welch-Dickey - there's more vertical involved, but I there aren't any tricky parts (whereas there are a few minor tricky parts on Welch-Dickey). The view from the summit ledge is very rewarding.

1st Choice Osceola (getting to East Osceola from there involves some tricky terrain but higher, better main peak is pretty easy)

2nd Choice - Welch Dickey

3rd Choice Greeley Ponds plus a couple of side paths to good views.

WD is my favorite hike here. I have done it 3 times this year. Great views with very little effort Branch brook is a nice campground. If you are cooking out. Camptom cubboard is a nice place to get you meats (fresh) really good. on 175 (left just after the Dam). Id did some of the Greely pond stuff a few weeks ago it was ncie for a change is your lookign for just a nice walk.

Only thought is if its wet WD can be really slippery
