On our way back to Denver from Snowmass we met some family at Copper Mountain and got in a couple more days of skiing along the way. Sunday the 29th was our first day out and it was incredibly crowded. The lifts at the base of Center Village took a good 30 minutes to get on so we tried to avoid the base lifts as much as possible.

We didn't get a ton of skiing in today mainly due to hanging with my niece and her friends who were mostly beginners but I did noticed this visit that Copper really has tons of sidecountry tree skiing. So much so that I almost couldn't believe how good the tree skiing is here. After the first couple of runs off the the American Flyer, the rest of the day was skiing with beginners so not much to report other than the snow was pretty good and the crowding was awful. There is definitely something to be said about skiing blacked out resorts over a holiday...

December 30th was a fantastic day of skiing. It snowed 9 inches overnight night then another 4 inches while we were out. My wife doesn't like when it's really windy out so we stayed away from the very tops of Copper Mountain, which if you've never been, can get extremely windy at the peaks. We ended up doing all of the marked and unmarked glades on either side of American Eagle and the American Flyer lifts. It was endless amounts of boot deep powder on every run making what was probably the best day of skiing for the entire Snowmass/Copper trip this season. Here are some photos from the day. Happy New Year everyone!

Here are a few more photos from the Copper trip. I really like this mountain alot. The only thing I didn't like were the crowds. Reminded me of how Breckenridge skis over a major holiday weekend...
