I'm a little skeptical that the Corgi was "buried". Dont see how the little critter could dig itself out if he was buried to the same depths as a human. Especially with it's lower boy mass, etc....

The avalanche investigators from the Gallatin National Forest Service went back out to the site to find out what happened to the dog. It was buried three feet deep for four days before digging itself out. There is a picture of the dog and victim's daughter on the front page of the Bozeman Chronicle.

Strange but true, corgis are a herding breed even though I think of them as being lap dogs for Queen Elizabeth.

They don't strike me as "snow" dogs, but this story might change my mind.

Impressive that the dog could survive, dig himself out, navigate back to the hotel, and then wait in front of the correct room.

Amazing animals. Anyone seen Hachi? Based on a true story. Kind of boring movie but moving. It's true; man's best friend.

Sad story nonetheless
