I'm putting together a wish list of gear that I want for the season. This is what I have so far:

Jacket: Burton Deerfield Puffy Jacket (http://www.burton.com/mens-jackets-...12,default,pd.html?start=31&cgid=mens-jackets)

Pants: Burton Poacher Pant (http://www.burton.com/mens-pants-poacher-pant/253794,default,pd.html?start=17&cgid=mens-pants)

Helmet: Smith Variant Brim (http://www.smithoptics.com/products/#/Helmets/Adult+Helmets/Variant+Brim/view/)

Goggles: Smith Evolve (http://www.smithoptics.com/products/#/Goggles/Snow+Goggles/Snow+Goggles+Evolve/IO+EVOLVE/view/))

I've had the helmet and goggles for a bit, but the jacket and pants are new. I also recently added a UClear Helmet Communicator HBC 120 (http://uclearstore.com/snow/) to my head gear and am enjoying it thus far. If you're in the market for one, it's great because it's multi-functional and uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone so you can listen to music, talk on the phone and use the intercom function to talk to your friends like a walkie-talkie. I recently started working with a company that works with them and their products are pretty stellar from what I've seen.

What I think I'm missing is a helmet camera. Anyone have one they love? Anything else fun you're using this year?

A piece of gear I always have with me is a balaclava. I find it necessary for below 20 degrees or if the wind is kicking. For such a small item it makes a tremendous difference in comfort.

Is this first year for you? Snowboarder?

I agree with Edd, on a cold day you definitely need something to cover your neck. I normally just use a boring gaitor and pull up my jacket around it.

If you want a helmet cam, get either a GoPro HD or a Contour HD. Can't go wrong with either, and they are similarly priced.

Do you have the little stuff like a tool and a lock?

How did I not think of that? Especially when I have a semi-permanent bruise on my outer thigh where my flask sits in my cargo pocket.

A safety meeting kit could also be essential, if that's how you roll.

Definitely not my first year, but I'm planning on going a lot this year because my friend bought a house in Mammoth. So, I'll be up there a lot.

Thanks for all the tips! The flask is probably #1! :daffy:
