I got first chair on the freezer at Jay last January on the morning of a small (~6 inch) pow day at Jay. Although the tram had sent one cycle up, I made first tracks in Beaver Pond.

Got first chair at Burke on Friday and yesterday (powder day). It is nice that they open the place for passholders only from 8-9am on holidays and weekends.

How many times have you gotten first chair? What do you consider first chair?

We have actually gotten the first chair for the day, very front of the line at Attitash(2), Sunday River, Barker Quad (2), Mt. Abrams(1), and Saddleback(1). I know, the ski patrol was there scratching it up way before me...... Thought we were gonna do it at the Loaf, but that will never happen. Way too many diehard skiiers there!

Do you consider first chair to be when you are in line when they open it up, and essentially no one has lapped you? Or is first chair when you are at the head of the line? And how many times have you scored it?

I got first chair on the Timberline Quad at Sugarloaf during the huge storm that they had in February of 2005. I skied first tracks down White Nitro and Ramdown/Whiffletree in better than 18" of powder that was 2-3' deep in many spots.

I've had 1st chair at Mt Snow (Grandsummit Express and its former names) as well as Canyon Express around a dozen times over the years, although since my wife and I have had kids the last 3 years now, 1st chair is something we can dream about(and not just because daycare doesn't open until 1st chair either)!

My new definition of 1st chair in my 2 young children era is on the lift by 8:45AM instead of in line at 7:45AM!
