While chattin w/ SkiDog yesterday about skiing at Song Mountain it reminded me of "Freaky Friday's". Freaky Fridays happen the first friday of every month where you could ski starting friday night at 10PM, until 10AM the next morning for 10 bucks. Again this was back in the late 70's------I remeber skiing in blue jeans, freezin' my ass off, stashin' beer and so co inda woods for a little mid night snack.

Any places you ski at have/had anything goofy like that going on???

Back in my college days I skied at Powder Ridge In Connecticut on Friday and Saturday nights. They had a regular 10PM-3AM ticket at reduced rates Yes, we drank a lot too. The worst part was the drive home at 3AM, I almost fell asleep at the wheel and killed myself once. This was before rumble strips and I was lucky there was gravel on the shoulder that pinged off the bottom of the car and woke me up before I hit the guard rails.

Shawnee Peak has Monday night madness. 10 dollar lift tickets. The place is a zoo with drunks and people who don't know how to ski all over the place. I learned the hard way to stay away on monday nights!

Did it really go from 10 to 10? I remember when it went until 2am about 20 years ago

They closed that a while ago. That thing was dangerous. If you put the hammer down on those sleds you would go fast enough to fly off the track. I know of a few that got injured

You still ski at Song??? I've heard/read that the new management is really struggling to keep that place going. Any truth to that???

Still ski there. Don't believe that rumor to have any merit. The current owner who also owned Snow Ridge sold the Ridge last year to focus on Song.
