Tuesday’s auction of New Jersey’s Hidden Valley ski area was expected to draw bids starting at $2.75 million, the minimum amount necessary to cover the resort’s debt and fees in the state court liquidation. But when the bidding opened, no one present offered a bid.

In doing some more digging on this I found some local news pointing to a potential purchase by Seven Springs only a month ago. I wonder what fell through, it sounded like it was a done deal.

Your a little confused Nick. The Hidden Valley that 7 Springs is buying is in Western PA. This Hidden Valley is in NJ. I know there are fans of the place on this board but I don't think this one will come back. Aged infrastructure, questionable snowmaking (and temps in NJ) and Mountain Creek right next door. I admit I haven't helped as I have not skied in state in several decades.

It not a bad place for night skiing mid week for a few hours that is Mountain Creek, I might buy their 3 day card for $70.
