Icebreaker Halo Shorts - Women's
Synthetic stretch wasn't always the fabric of choice for professional cyclists. Once upon a time, riders swathed themselves in wool for races. And, while the technological advances of today's breathable, form-fit, muscle-hugging fabrics ensure that riders won't be wearing merino again any time soon, that doesn't mean that it's not a superior choice of fabric for your day to day sojourns. The Icebreaker Halo Women's Shorts make the old new again, with a twist.
Wool features a subtle, classy styling that synthetic fabrics seem to lack. Whether it's the often bold colors or just the cut, we always seem to feel like we need to race every time we don our kits. Icebreaker constructed its Halo shorts with traditional details and all the bells and whistles in a matte merino wool. Why wool? Well, wool is naturally hydrophilic. This means that it holds up to 30% its weight in moisture. So, when you sweat, perspiration is moved away from your skin. If you've ever been outside with wet skin and a cool breeze washes over you, you've undoubtedly shivered. By wicking moisture away from your body, your core temperature is regulated. By keeping your core regulated, your heart and circulatory system focus on pumping blood to your muscles, rather than keeping you warm.
The form fit of the Halo is aided by the addition of 11% nylon and 6% Spandex. Together these stretch knits help the shorts to retain their shape - wear after wear. The multi-paneled design ensures that the shorts hug your muscles and don't constrict movement. A multi-density insert was added to support your sit bones while cushioning your soft tissue areas. You'll ride in comfort for hours. Finally, small reflective details were added for low light visbility.
The Icebreaker Halo - Women's shorts are available in sizes X-Small to X-Large and in the color Black.
