Yeah Vail definitely sucks but this mountain doesn't and delivers despite the chaos. Cold Sunday that was predicted cloudy but sun arrived before noon and nice sort of smooth sugar on top of bullet base and ski-on quad and basically empty trails (Stupor Bowl exit? ) made for hero speed on finally-open Lynx t2b and even Polecat was crazy fun because empty runs = high speed carving on what I think is unrivaled terrain in the East.

Ungroomed and trees frozen and non-negotiable.

View across the road where my boarding co-conspirator in the pic and I (I'm 2-planked on 168 Atomics) have ventured many times ain't bad either - never gets old.

Right on!

It's insane how much speed can creep up on you when skiing Lynx frozen and groomed the day after a warming. Glad you had a blast.

Almost sounds like you were there too pinion because you're exactly right - the steeper pitches on Lynx were like getting shot out of a cannon.

Yup, I was there. Good day but to your point, groomers only. I dropped into the gondi line after the sun had been out for an hour. “Technical” skiing to say the least, especially Black Cat 🤣
