You live close to Crotched and it's $19. The pack there was great last Sunday. They are closed in anticipation of the rains on Saturday (good move for everybody). They have also been closed all week. It seems that staying off the snow when it gets warm is the best way to preserve it for the good days. The rain might drain through the snow. The forcast is good and their parking has pretty good tailgate party potential.

Not too much here (MRV-VT), mostly a slushy mix of snow/rain, but no deluge expected. It is still dry now and whatever comes will be done by early Saturday a.m. Then Saturday to be cloudy moving to part sun, then a stellar spring Sunday. (edit 9:03am- snowing now)

Family pass, we all go there for free. :-D But I was also looking at Sunapee, have 2 unused tickets for there. Son just made honor roll, considering bringing him out someplace bigger then Crotched.

It may be raining wherever you are, sitting to read this post,

But from Sunday River to Bretton Woods, our only mixing precip is from heavy snow to bb's of sleety precip, it is all falling as some kind of CP. Not NCP.

Just got home from Shawnee Peak and the skiing was awesome. Plenty of coverage and nice soft snow. It was a bit sticky in some spots but it should drain out tonight and be nice tomorrow. There is still plenty of snow in the glades and moguls. The conditions have been the best there this year of anywhere that I have skied.

Sunday River is in great shape.

Yesterday was almost totally snow... a little bit of sleet, and maybe some nair at the base... but for the most part it was straight snow... Everything was soft and fun today... Tomorrow should be a great day (mid to high forties, mostly sunny skies).

Just got back from MRG. Wow. Lots of cover and the snow was so soft...perfect.
Nice seeing you at Mad River, TB!

I will echo that sentiment. Least damaged? Are we really worried about damage when areas are essentially open with 100% coverage and no bare spots heading into a sunny 50 degree Sunday? Perhaps this is the "window effect" that ski area management are so concerned about. It can dump in the mountains but if it rains in metro then people don't come or it could dump and metro and rain in the mountains and people come out in droves. Perfect spring skiing on a weekend following a rain event?

Nah, it ain't worth it. All of VT got rain and there is no snow left, spring skiing has been canceled this year ;)

Like the sign at MRG said... you keep coming and paying, we'll stay open. I would hate to be the person reading trip reports tomorrow night that didn't head out there on a perfect spring corn bump day!

Finger crossed. Tips parallel.
Dang it!!! Now I know what I was doing wrong!

Just a fantastic day up here, today. A little hard in the morning, and some a lot of the top never softened, but for the bottom feeders... :spin: And when someone talked about Paradise and Ripcord, I smiled and said, "That's for later." :-D

I haven't seen nearly that many people on Lower Birdland, and they were ripping it up! :daffy:

People are remembering what spring skiing is about! 8)

I'll be hurting tomorrow... but I'll be skiing, too. Lots of spring skiing to be done, up here. 8)
