I'm thinking of going to Loon on Superbowl Sunday, as that's where the ski bus is going. Now, I know Loon can have ridiculous lines during the weekends, but would it be a reasonable crowd on Superbowl Sunday?

You should be fine. Saturdays are the worst; Sundays are usually not as bad. Based on experience, that particular Sunday will probably be very quiet after 12 noon.

I am part of a small Ski Club trip that visits Loon for Superbowl Sunday, and a few days after. Known as Armando's Black & Blue Ski Club.

Last year, as mentioned above, people clear out about noon. Most of the people are pass holders to begin with. Below is a paste from the thread on this site regarding deals/cheap skiing, you will see that other area mountains are offering some pretty good discounts for that day.

Superbowl ticket sale at Liftopia:

Wildcat Mountain (NH) - $36.99 - save 43%
Black Mountain (NH) - $28.99 - save 26%
Waterville Valley (NH) - $49.99 - save 25%
Cranmore (NH) - $44.00 - save 20%

Also, from another listing, Cannon is doing a twofer $66

So, it would appear to be a pretty empty day everywhere, and with Loon's failure to react, I would expect that Loon will not get more attention this year.

We are tied into a lodging/ski deal, so as you are on the bus, hope to see you there ! Join us for Apres Ski at the Octogon. Our game party was pretty good last year, at the Black Diamond in the Mountain Club. But, they haven't reacted to "set us up" this year, so party site tbd !

I was already planning to ski Cannon on Sunday. The twofer is a nice added bonus:lol:

Superbowl

Anklebiter, found your thread, so I have a better understanding of your trip. I had thought you were on a bus, but now see you are with vehicle.

Our crew is staying at two different locations, as beds/seperate rooms was confusing.....

Part of the crew is at Village at Loon, I'm at the InnSeason South Mountain Sunday nite thru Tuesday.

The Mountain Club just didn't get it. Last year our tab for the Superbowl in the Black Diamond Grill alone was $160 each. In fact, the Superbowl bartender roamed around town on Monday night, trying to find us, just to hang out again !

This year, two nights lodging, 2 full days lift tickets for a total of $160. each. Mountain Club wanted over $300 !

We have a very diverse group, of 10-12 people. Ages 30-60, greenies to double diamondbumpers, so we are skiing Loon. As it covers them all.

Our Bowl party site is not determined yet. If I had to guess, Woodstock Brew Pub, or maybe Commonman. But, it will be a group decision made Sunday.

It would be great if you can join us ! Either for the bowl, or if you go to Loon on Monday or Tuesday. Send me an email, and I'll shoot back my cell phone #

Nice Monday on the runs at Loon. Little windy and cold, but still a good day.

Had the misfortune that one of our crew broke her leg. Surgery this afternoon in Plymouth.

The rest of us will be on the hill tomorrow.

Tuesday was awesome ! No face masks needed. Sunny, plenty of snow coverage. Just a great day to ski.

Watched the game at the Woodstock. Hello to our new friends that learned about Car Bombs for the first time. Great dinner there on Monday night as well. Few growlers of Wild Weasle Wheat made it back to MA with us.

Once again, Superbowl weekend is a great time to Ski !
