Mohawk 12-15-2012 Opening Day

Took a quick 2 hour session at Mohawk. Skiing on three trails, Arrowhead, Pine and Nutmeg. This is my first time out this season, trying out my new boots, noticed a big difference. Mohawk made some quality snow in less than favorable snowmaking conditions and their grooming is always impeccable. Snow was soft and fast. The race teams began practicing around 9:30 so I skied from 8:30 to about 10:15am before it started to get too crowded. So happy to be skiing again.

Nice. Way to get out there. I've never been to Mohawk. I was going to get up early and get a few hours in this morning at Catamount but opted to sleep in instead of negotiate the one way down from the summit.

I usually avoid Mohawk on the weekends, but since they had midweek pricing I couldn't say no. I live close enough to it that I can go for two hours and still get back home and do a full day's work. I can't wait for Catamount to open more trails. It's my favorite place within a 1 hr drive. You were probably smart to sleep in.
