We are doing our first Eastern Canadian ski trip this weekend which has been long overdue. Drove from the Burlington area to Mont Sutton this morning which wasn't bad neither was the border crossing which took a total of 3 minutes to complete the crossing.

I've heard about this mountain a little bit before the trip but really went in today with low expectations and left 4 hours later completely impressed with the vast amounts of gladed terrain.

Got here around 9 am with a fresh inch or two of snow and all 60 trails open, conditions were great and the lines were mostly 5 minute waits. We primarily stuck to this area of the mountain circled in red which reminded me alot of the Casablanca area at Saddleback....

The tree skiing here ranges from mellow to advanced and is really good as you'll see in the photos below...

We skied about 4 hours today hitting the whole left section of the trail map not really knowing where we were going.

I did randomly notice a triple black diamond run along the way and jumped in assuming the run was probably no where near that trail rating and of course it wasn't but the run was still a ton of fun!...

All in all we had a great time here today and would definitely pair another Mont Sutton trip with a Jay Peak visit in the future. As I mentioned earlier, this place reminded us of Saddleback alot so if you like it there you're going to like it here too.

If you can hit Mont Sutton with good conditions it is 100% worth the trip. Also, I didn't think the lift infrastructure was as bad as what I read beforehand so don't let that part hold you back. We are off to Tremblant in the morning for a day of skiing tomorrow...

I guess you'll be hitting Tremblant tomorrow. I haven't been to Sutton, but I really like Tremblant. Hope you get good conditions.

Those woods are a lot snowier than Snowbird's right now. But that may be about to change this week;)
I'd say that looks like a good guess Jim...

Get prepared for some crazy traffic on that access road!

Thanks, you should definitely try Sutton one day, it's worth the trip. We plan on sticking to mostly the North side of Tremblant today. Im most concerned about the crowds, the conditions should be solid.
