STOWE, Vermont — One of Vermont's most unique summer attractions, The Famous Mount Mansfield Toll Road, will open for the season on Saturday, May 14th. The toll road allows visitors to drive their cars to the top of the state's highest peak, where they can enjoy the magnificent views or have easy access to summit hiking trails. The Toll Road was originally built in 1856 as the carriage road which brought guests to the Summit House Hotel.

*Please note: Due to remaining snowpack, the Toll Road will be open only to the Octagon/top of the FourRunner Quad until further notice. Regular 2005 rates are in effect. Also, bicycles and motorcycles are not permitted on the toll road.

Hours of operation: Daily 9 am – 4 pm

The cost is $18 per car (plus $4 per person for over six people per car).
