Mt. Mansfield, VT
Date Hiked: 09/21
Trails(s) Hiked: Long Trail mostly
Total Distance: Probably about 8-10 miles
Difficulty: Difficult
Conditions: Sunny, windy/cold on Adam's Apple/The Chin - frost, ice, rime
Special Required Equipment: None
Pretty nice hike, I actually have wind/sunburn despite the cold temperatures. Other than the climbing required on the north face of the Chin, the hike itself isn't too difficult (I found my Greylock - Thunderbolt and Stark/Ellen/Lincoln Peak hikes much more challenging). There was pretty heavy rime on top of the Chin. Some peak foliage in places, mostly birch. Also a decent amount of trees without leaves. Much of the valley/surrounding mountains still seem to have some time before they hit peak.
