Mt. Race and Mt. Everett, MA

Date Hiked: 10/14

Trails(s) Hiked: Race Brook Trail to the AT

Total Distance: ~8 miles

Difficulty: Moderate

Conditions: Sunny, mostly dry trails

Special Required Equipment: None

Fortunately I had to start early, thus avoiding the onslaught of crowds around noontime ascending to the Race Brook Falls. Mt. Race is a great view, Everett not so much in comparison, despite being higher in elevation.

Great area to hike. The Bear Rock falls area is also pretty nice, where the old campsite used to be - if you leave the trail there where it used to be you can get to the falls and another nice view out.

Once I camped illegally (I didn't start a fire and leave/break my beer bottles all over) on Race right where you exit the trees and before you hike along the ledge - gorgeous!

Nice...I walked to to the top of the falls near where I think the old campsite was...not so much of a view anymore, though looking down was neat. I was considering bushwacking down next to the falls, but I was running short on time.
