Total Distance:
8.5 miles, elev. gain about 3100', Total hiking time 7 hrs. 15 min.

Difficulty:
Moderate to Slippery

Conditions:
Cool and very wet due to recent rain, cloudy early with clearing skies from Willey on.

Special Required Equipment:
Hiking boots, car spotting

Trip Report:
The ascent up the Avalon and A-Z trails was a moderate hike made hazardous by very slippery conditions. The same was true for the descent down from Willey. The ladder section was treacherous due to missing ladders and washed out trail. The ladders are in the process of being replaced. The summit cairns on Tom and Willey are a little difficult to find. This hike resulted in more bruised butts than any other hike I've been on, but I had great company which made it an excellent hike overall. Thanks to Kelly, Laurel, Melissa, Lisa, and especially Madison .
Dave, Julie, Robin, and Danette could have hiked with us, but they were late again. :D
