SPRUCE PEAK AT STOWE, VT - This summer's 10th Music Festival of the Americas at Stowe reflects a dedication to the future of young musicians. Not only does it showcase magnificent young artists, but audiences will surely delight in its familiarity. Three evenings of superlative music under the baton of Music Director Alondra de la Parra illuminate the talents of orchestra musicians from a host of countries, with most players being under the age of thirty-five. All three concerts will take place at the intimate Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center, August 18, 19 and 20 at 8:00 PM. Tickets are available at www.sprucepeakarts.org , by phone ( 802-760-4634 ) or in person at the Spruce Peak Box Office Tuesday-Saturday from 12-3 pm and 12pm through intermission on performance days.
Joining the talented orchestra are internationally renowned pianist Jan Lisiecki and violinist Chad Hoopes, both 16 years old. On the final night, Latin pop star Mane de la Parra returns to shake things up with his Mexican band for a night of exuberant salsa that defies complacency.
Thursday, August 18, 8 PM - VIVALDI'S FOUR SEASONS will feature Alondra de la Parra and the orchestra with violinist Chad Hoopes. The second part of the program will feature SCHUBERT'S SYMPHONY NO.5.
Friday, August 19, 8 PM - MOZART'S CONCERTO NO. 20 IN D MINOR K. 466 and BEETHOVEN'S SYMPHONY NO.3, EROICA with pianist Jan Lisiecki, Alondra de la Parra and the orchestra.
Saturday, August 20, 8 PM - LATIN RHYTHMS. Mane de la Parra & Friends take the stage!
