Met up with Greg on Stone Road around 7:15 this morning and hit the trails a few moments later. We rode up and over the kitchen bypass down to the fire road where we traversed over to and up the FKC then cut back over towards Stone Road and down the Bypass. We crossed over the road and pedaled a good portion of Stone East and bailed for the cars.

Seeing as a thundershower had just passed through minutes before this ride let's just say that it was a little moist out there, rain forest like in fact. The trails themselves for the most part where actually in pretty good shape. Only a few spots of standing water on the bypass and a much increased volume of water coming down the fire road at the bottom of the FKC. Everything else besides being greasy from the humidity rode very well. With a few hours of sunshine and a nice breeze everything should be riding excellent once again.

As usual Greg was flying once again, tearing up and down the trails while claiming to be riding at a casual pace. LOL! Anyway it was a great ride despite the less than pleasurable conditions. It felt great to get out early and get a rip in on the bike and have most of the day left to enjoy. Besides, there's nothing like a cold beer after a bike ride at 10am on a Saturday.

Here's the track.....

Nice rip this morning Jon! Sorry about the pinch flat after the Kitchen bypass. WC summed it up well. Stone Road is definitely the place to ride after the rain. A few areas that required light pedaling or walking, but mostly pretty mud and standing water free. I've been meaning to do a variation of this ride for a long time. Definitely a great rainy weather option. Had a nice chat with Mleg on Stone Road. I don't feel that guilty about drinking a beer at 9:50 this morning...
