Got a chance to ride the Soccer Fields and trails leading into the Stone Road area. Amazingly dry. Leafy, with some areas requiring further stick and branch clearing but overall very nice and fast. Woodcore's 2009 TM efforts near the brook crossing are holding up fine. Two new, large deadfalls blocking twistie singletrack in upper Soccer Fields need to be removed or built into up-and-overs.

As reported on other sites, horses serverly damaged several Stone East trails last week following the rains making hiking difficult. Repair work has begun and should be finished later this month.

Rode in the Nass woods again today but chose different routes. Mostly up the 69er and down the Hinman's (or the Woddcore if the CF folks rename it in his honor). 69er is very wet soon after you enter it due to the cemetery swamp outflow - be careful there as many braids are popping up already. Walk it on the logs provided. The rest of the trail is dry and perfect.

Hinman's is quite dry also. Beautiful armoring in many of the sensitive spots make these areas a delight to ride. I'm told that the Johnnycake has a large tree that has fallen into the stream at or near the crossing, which will need to be dealt with.

Ran into two horses on the Hinman today. These are local riders and quite alarmed at the damage others had done on Stone last week. Their horses were equiped with some sort of Muck Boots (!) and left no marks at all. Not to say there weren't signs that horses had been through...

Severine - AZ TM project is a great idea. Would require some coordination as well as prioritizing exactly what to work on.

MLegg, surprised I didn't see you as I rode almost the same route in the opposite direction this morning! Anyway glad you enjoyed some of the new armoring! The trails are for the most part riding great with only a few exceptions.

I will coordinate with the AZ folks (be the point person) as far a TM is concerned so no worries there. Looking forward to seeing you out on the trails!

i love it when there's horse damage and the horsies don't care but one tire track, they start burning mtbrs in effigy.

Eh, same thing holds true for riding one set of trails vs. another.

Rode up that way last night and yes there is a large tree down right at the stream crossing but a nice bypass up and around it already exists so no further action is needed.

rode up there yesterday too...Rode the bypass as we ran into two "Hessian" dirtbikers on that tight trail...they didn't kill it, mostly because the one with no skills was just ambling through the woods. Took the Meth Lab climb all the way up to the knee tree trail. It appeared that someone made a nice entrance (with limbs) into the Knee Tree trail so you wouldn't miss the turn and go straight down the MX trail. We removed it since the "Hessians" doubled back and followed us. The locals who were responsible for Knee Tree trail would probably not be too happy to have motorized traffic on that trail. Just a heads up if any of you are up there and don't see that turn marked by limbs anymore. You'll know you're there when you get into the pine grove.
