BobR posted info on this in the Trips and Events Forum but I wanted to give it broader exposure here.
Easterners have been clamoring for an Eastern Regional Championship for a long time and NASTAR HQ has responded with the NASTAR Open. The last time the NASTAR Nationals were held in the East was 1973 at Mt. Snow so this is a step in the right direction.
US Ski Team greats Doug Lewis and A J Kitt will be there as will recently retired US Ski Team Coach Phil McNichol. Unfortunately I have to work that weekend but if you're free I would encourage you to try it. In order to qualify you only need to make one run at any NASTAR venue.
I've been to four Nationals (and have already booked a flight to this year's in Steamboat) and I can tell you that NASTAR knows how to run an event. If your schedule is free join the fun!
