Barring trades, Pats won't select until around 5:00-5:30. I think that they will trade up a bit to draft Marlin Jackson from Michigan or stay with the pick they got and take Barrett Ruud from Nebraska. Just a guess.

1st Round New England selected Logan Mankins, OG, Fresno State.

According to CBS Sportsline, "The Patriots lost guard Joe Andruzzi, so they use a first-round pick on Mankins, who is a quality lineman. He has played tackle, but some project him to play guard. The one thing about the Patriots is they know how to get their offensive linemen to play together. He will develop into a solid starter."

I never thought Bill would draft an OL in the first round...

I had the draft on no stop from noon till 4 on Sat 11 till almost 6 on Sunday. I love the draft and and all the draft talk. Football will maintain me into the fall until I can make turns. Thought we would take a Line Backer with 1st pick, sounds like negotiations are going on with Chad Brown so maybe we get 1 anyway.

I love the draft and being a Vikings fan with the 7th and 18th pick it was alot of fun to watch. Its going to be a good season for them.
The best move the vikes made was ditching Randy Moss. There will be a better locker room this year.

I have mixed feelings about this. The media made him out to be worse than he is. He was a problem from time to time but not a cancer in the locker room like the media made him out to be. In fact the vikings coach did not want to trade him nor did Cullpepper. It will be very hard to replace 20 td's and 1700 yards each season but what they have done this offseason more then makes up for it.
