Just a quick note to let everyone know that conditions in Northern Vermont are spectacular, and look to stay that way for a while, regardless of what you see in Southern New England.

I just came back last night from Stowe & Bolton Valley (trip report later today, I hope) last night. They have a winter storm watch in effect for Mon-Tues and expect another 6" snow. It's all light, fluffy stuff up there. It was snowing from noon until we left at day's end Sunday, temps in the hi 20's on the mountain, nearing 32 in the valley, but no sign of the wet stuff. Pretty much all trails and terrain was open. The off-piste glades were just awesome even for my teens and 8-year old, we had a blast. Roads are entirely navigable most everywhere. Hated to go.

Get out NOW: conditions are super!

We had blue skies and fresh snow and grooming at Burke. NO LINES...read again...NO LINES!!! The mtn is going to get more snow tonight and tomorrow. If you haven't tried Burke, now is the time: www.skiburke.com

I agree with ThetrailBoss(copy cat) :D Burke had some of the nicest snow I can remember in a long time. The lack of lift lines makes the experience that much better. Ow how about the views?

Hopefully I didn't steal yours ( ) Sorry if I did...was echoing your comments. There is plenty of snow to go around...Bolton is a nice place.

Ya know, I've skied every mountain in Vermont except for Bolton and Burke. I plan on skiing Bolton tomorrow. At $36 for a midweek ticket, I just might go out to Burke next week. Do they have any extended discounts for Vermonter's or those who work in the Hotel Biz?

It's 8:00 AM in the Mad River Valley and snowing hard. We're supposed to get around a foot today and tonight. Hopefully, a few more than that in the mountains. Having said that, it did rain some during the night, so we could certainly use some snow to keep it from going really icy.

All in all, though, I think we're going to have an excellent late winter season. The two week forecast is showing sub-freezing temps and the occasional snow storm. We might be skiing well into April if we're lucky.

If you have a season pass at another mtn, you can ski midweek at Burke for $20 all day.

Their other specials are posted on their site: www.skiburke.com

Midweek tix are cheap anyways.

Can't fault you for trying to find a better deal, but these are pretty good prices for what you're getting!

Agreed. Great places to ski midweek at great rates. You'll have NOBODY else there and great conditions. Both really need the $$$ as it is...

Oh man, why do I have to go to D.C. next week??? this looks awesome. I'm gonna be miserable. Everyone else on the trip is delighted to go towards warm(er) weather. Think I'll need therapy....
