You, too, can look like a Steamboat Resort employee for the low price of $129.99. I am honestly surprised that Marmot and Alterra let these go to a retailer. I would think that having people wear these skiing would really confuse guests. That is still the case even if the uniforms have changed. And as much as I am a ski nerd, I would never wear something like this to recreational ski.

I looked again and sure enough, Sierra actually has surplus "Ski Patrol" jackets for sale. I saw this in the past and was really surprised that they have no issue selling one of these to any Tom, Dick, or Sally who may not be patrollers.

Hey, if you got the patrol jacket you could go around threatening to pull passes on anyone that pissed you off during a ski day. Maybe even cut lines on a clueless liftee :sneaky:

Great Point!

buying a jacket now! Take that alterra and your paid line cutting program!
You know, I did toy with the idea of trying to use it to cut the lines. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Even at a big place like Steamboat, I'll bet money that most or all of the lifties know all of the patrollers.

Best we ever had for shells and full jackets was Mountain Hardware, a NH company :)
SR predominantly used LL Bean, and Nike's ACG (All Climate Gear) line.

Help me—how was Mountain Hardwear a NH company? Cumming and his partner founded it after they dropped out of UC Boulder IIRC and somewhere out west….

MH is under Columbia's umbrella now I believe. Had to send a jacket to Ca for repair last year.
