Patsy Hileman, 49, a 26-year veteran of the Snowmass Ski Patrol, was killed Dec. 30 when a small avalanche swept her over a cliff in the Hanging Valley Wall at the Snowmass Ski Area.

Is it par for the course for OSHA to get involved in any death, right? I'm guessing this was just a review and determination that the company didn't do anything negligent?

Looks like just a review. Kind of surprising that Snowmass would have a patroler skiing in permanently closed terrain alone though. Maybe she did so on her own decision.

Did you get that information from another article? According to the one that Nick posted, she was on duty.

The Wall area contains some of the most extreme terrain in Snowmass, and Hileman was found to have been skiing in a permanently closed section called Ship’s Prow Glades. Hileman, who was on duty at the time and skiing by herself, died of injuries to her chest and back.
