HENNIKER, New Hampshire -- Pats Peak, New Hampshire's premier snowsports destination, announces that registration is going on now for the Weekday Learn To Ski & Snowboard Program. The Pats Peak Ski and Snowboard School prides itself in being called "a teaching mountain", where it bases its instruction on the American Teaching System, a method used by the PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) and AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors), a proven method for developing and refining skills. With over 300 professional instructors, every lesson is geared toward the student's age and ability and to provide a fun learning environment.

New this season, an exciting new benefit has been added for students who sign up for the Pats Peak Learn to Ski and Snowboard Program Pats Peak, Cranmore and Gunstock are each offering students who participate in the Pats Peak Learn to Ski & Snowboard Program (1) one free lift ticket to ski/ ride at their mountain, valid February 23, 2009 through the end of their respective ski season. There is no additional cost for this new benefit to the program. Please call the Ski School for more information or clarification at (603) 428-3245.

"Pats Peak's popular Learn to Ski & Snowboard Program has been a tradition for many years. We are excited to begin another season. We've added this new benefit to give students more opportunities to have fun at other New Hampshire mountains in addition to Pats Peak", said Bertie Holland, Snowsports Director at Pats Peak.

The Pats Peak Weekday Learn to Ski and Snowboard Program offers lessons for all abilities. Full rental packages are available for ski or snowboard. The program is for pre-scheduled school groups for five weeks. Students must sign up through their school or recreation center coordinator in order to participate in the program. If your local school or recreation center doesn't currently have a coordinator, you can create your own program. To create your own program, call Joni Aubin in the Pats Peak Ski School at 603-428-3245 x112 to secure your day and time.

Classes are kept to a maximum of 12 students. Level 1 through Level 9 classes for both skiing and snowboarding are available, as well as a very popular Freestyle class, which teaches the students how to use the terrain park and its elements safely. A Lift Only option is available for skiers or riders who are Level 5 or above that do not wish to take a lesson, but wish to participate in the program. Students must be at least six years old by 1/1/09 and in first grade in order to participate. Classes start on the scheduled day starting the week of January 5, 2009 for Session 1 and on Thursday, February 19, 2009 for Session 2. Discounted Weekday Parent Tickets are available for parents/guardians wishing to ski or ride on the day of their child(rens) program.
