Pricing at hunter mountain tomorrow

I'm taking a friend to hunter tomorrow and I have a bIg lIft card. I see the extra benefits to the card say you can bring a friend and get a discount but am not sure if I can get him that discount if I am using a free day on my card. Wording states something to the effect of Receive the same discount as you which sounds like I may have to be buying a ticket also.

is anyone familiar with the card and benefits? Also, if he wouldn't get the discount, what would be the cheapest option?
