QQ 105% Open. Hoh boy..

I couldn't help but repost this after the discussions we've had on how open a resort is..

Taken from the ski report at Crotched Mountain:

"1-29-2007 - Update 8:15am --

Wow, sunny day... awesome snow. 2" of fresh powder fell from the sky on Saturday. EXTRA TERRAIN TODAY!! Can I say 105% open? We've opened one of our new expansion trails, a beginner run accessable from Galaxy."

Are they going to rebuild and open the other part of crotched that still lies dormant (according to the nelsap entry, anyway)?

Is Crotched worth the drive from S RI over Wa wa for a change of pace?

There's lots of possibilities for them opening new/reopen older terrain. I think at this point it'd just be a matter of what land would be available on the other side. I went to take a look up there, and alot of the old stuff is still there, but there are also 'Private Drive' signs on the road, so I'm unsure of how much of that land they could actually use.

Is Crotched worth the drive from S RI over Wa wa for a change of pace?

I find it a crapton more fun then Wawa. Allot less crowded, and with Midnight Madness on Fri and Sat, much more time to ski, if you dont mind the drive back later at night. Would have to think of the best way to get up there, tho.

Not only that, thinking of it, but Pat's Peak isn't that much farther, so if it turns out you dont like the conditions, or want to try some other places out, Pat's Peak is like 20 minutes past Crotched, easy to do a half day half day thing and see both.
