The lead guitarist of Ten Years After, who sky rocketed to fame after their performance at Woodstock, has died at age 68 of "complications after routine surgery."
"We have lost a wonderful, much loved father and companion," said the statement signed by his daughter Jasmin, wife Evi and former companion Suzanne. "The world has lost a truly great and gifted musician." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/06/alvin-lee-dead_n_2823865.html

If you've never heard the live Woodstock version of "I'm Going Home," treat yourself-

Sometimes I dust it off, crank up the volume to 11, and pretend I'm down in the crowd asking "who ARE these guys?!"

We've been really enjoying playing "I'd love to Change the World" in my band the last few months..
And it goes over really well too... Timeless shti right there...

I like that song a lot, even though he never did.
