Yeah, that was the spring of 2002, I believe. It was centered over Plattsburgh.

I felt the earth move when Phish played Plattsburgh 8)

New England is such a great place to live. I think that almost every day. No killer animals except perhaps bears. No killer insects or spiders. Very small earthquakes. Hurricanes are few and weak. We have mountains, lakes and Ocean. And we have 4 seasons to enjoy(although I would enjoy 11 months of winter and one month of fall). What more could yopu want?
Honorable mention for safest place to live in the USA IMO would have to be Kentucky. I've never been there myself but think about it, when was the last time you heard of any kind of bad thing happening in Kentucky? Aside from being trampled by a thoroughbread during the Derby I think it sounds like a pretty safe place.

I don't know. The guy who started Fark.com lives in Lexington, Kentucky. If you know Fark, you might have second thoughts about Kentucky.

They do make good bourbon there, though.

I feel fortunate to live in the NE, there isn't much crime here. We do get some and when we do, it's big news because it's certainly not like living in and around the big cities. Once in a while we might get a Northeaster, but doesn't seem as bad as they were when I was a kid. As far as hurricanes go we usually get the tail end of them because I think the cold air up here sucks it out into the ocean, so we end up with a ton of rain.
