Wow, Killington kills me. How stupid do they think we are?

Also, Sugarbush is constantly reporting more than MRG (which can be seen by the season total). Either MRG under reports or Sugarbush is full of it too.

I live here. That number probably isn't too far off for total snowfall for the season. We've had some huge thaws that made it melt out several times so all that natural snowfall isn't reflected in current base depths. I'm at 2000 feet. I had 2 feet of snow pack in my yard a couple of times this winter and had it melt out to green grass.

Today was a really good powder day. When the weekenders show up on Saturday morning, all that snow will be skied off, settled out, or blown into the woods. Like usual, people will say Killington lied about the snow this week.

That is crazy because I am only at a couple hundred feet above sea level and have had a 2'+ snow pack for a month that has never come close to melting out and our snow fall isn't half of Killington's for the year.

But the truth is... a lot of storms this year have favored SoVT more than they normally do and NoVT has missed a lot of jackpots that are normally sure shots. While I have no doubt that Killington's snow fall is probably very much above average for this time of year... it is incredibly hard to believe it is higher than Mansfield. There is a big difference between adding an extra inch here and there versus pulling out the BS Yard Stick.

It's no lie..Killington, Sugarbush and Jay Peak have always been known to measure with a tilted ruler..just ask JD..

Depending on the storm, we actually often get more at the Bush than MRG. We have the elevation advantage, and sometimes just being a little bit to one direction or the other can make a big difference in snowfall totals.

It works the other way too. I was at Sugarbush and MRG back to back before opening last year and MRG had a lot more snow.

That 162 inches for K is probably dead on, but it doesn't matter what it did so far this season, it only matters what it did yesterday. This is the east. You can have it and lose it in the same day. That's already happened 3 times this season at K with reign and thaws, but the 162 inch number is probably dead on. Make of it what you will.

I don't think that Killington is far from the truth. It seems like they are in a perfect location. There are plenty of times that I have driven too and from Killington, both north and south, and me and my wife are both amazed how many times there it wasn't snowing outside of Killington's borders, but once you cross over pow. On critisizim I would have about there numbers is that they were adding up totals from days they weren't yet open. Sugarbush on the other hand, well how dare you say something negative about them on this board!

Funny! I lived at K in the late 70s and early 80s and people were saying the same things back then. It is a big Mt with its head always in the clowds, I have seen it snow 6" at the peak while the sun shines at the base. Like it or not the Mt gets a lot of snow

Normally SB and MRG are very close in their reporting. A couple years back, the season totals (using MRG's high number) were within a few inches. Not sure what's going on this year. My guess is that each mountain starting counting with its opening date, and SB opened way before MRG. That would explain it, especially since there was some early season snow.

k's numbers are pretty accurate. given the volume of internet ski reports, it'd be tough for them to fudge the numbers too much.

An obnoxious, loudmouth (but once very good) pitcher for some obscure baseball team up in the Boston vicinity.

I know who Curt Schilling is. I'm well aware of who that arrogant piece of loud mouth crap is. Just another Boston punk-bich. I know who he is.

Who is Curt Schill?
