Shimano XTR Dyna-Sys CN-M981 Chain

S116LIN.jpg

Designed to provide better shifting for mountain bikes, the asymmetrical XTR Dyna-Sys CN-M981 Chain uses four different plates. The outer and inner plates that make up the chain are all shaped differently according to their position relative to rings and cogs.
It necessitates installing the XTR 10-Speed Chain in a specific manner -- the XTR logo must appear right-side up on the top section of chain. This way, the beveling on the plates allow smooth transitions across cogs, improving up and down shifts on chainrings and cassettes alike.
The 10-Speed Shimano Dyna-Sys CN-M981 Chain is Sil-Tec plated so that it's resistant to corrosion. This technology first appeared on Dura-Ace 9000 chains, and increases performance and durability. It has hollow pivot pins to keep the weight as low as possible, and is assembled with a standard 10-speed connecting pin.
