Nice day at Smuggs today. Bright sun, warmer temps and some pretty darn good snow.

There is still quite a bit of snow up there. I skied some of the gladed runs and was able to find lighter snow in the shady areas. The popular lines in the glades are pretty bumped up now.

Bermuda glade catches the sun and I found it tough to ski with some new snow over a bumpy crust. My husband had a better go of it on his snowboard.

The groomed runs were good, including Drifter and Chilcoot. I only hit ice a couple of times, otherwise it was hard, fast carving fun. Again in the shady areas, I found some softer packed powder.

The views were tremendous in the morning, with clear blue skies. I've got photos and details on my skiing blog http://www.skimaven.com

I'm hoping that Friday's mixed precipitation takes on a frozen form up in the mountains. Saturday is supposed to be a pretty sunny, warm day -- would be a great ski day.

Here you can see the runs at Stowe from the top of the Drifter trail at Smugglers' Notch.
