Anyone know how the SnowFlex system is working out at Liberty University or in EuropeHas anyone skied SnowFlex? Is it realistic for a place like Mountain Creek or the Poconos with a great population base nearby. I see much interest in Xanadu but that is so small I can't believe it will attract real skiers beyond the third grade.

This would be a great investment to a place like camelback. Ski Roundtop in central pa would be another, mainly because that's my home mountain

I drove down from DC to Lynchburg a couple of times to ski at Liberty Snowflex last summer & the summer before when the jones got really bad.
It was fun as a one-off but you have to be really, really desperate to do it. The 2 biggest problems are that the Snowflex has pretty high friction, and that all they have is a rope tow. So you don't go very fast going down, and then the lift ride is really murder. You end up drenched in sweat from holding on to the rope while it drrrrrraggggs your skis up the sticky ropetow lane. Lots of pressure on knees, wrists, feet just from riding the lift. Quite a price to pay for a very short, high-friction run.
After 8-9 PM when the evening cools off and the water stops evaporating, the downhill run gets almost decent. But the ropetow remains a serious workout. It might be better in the fall with cooler temps.
Liberty might be fun if you do air. They have monster jumps & quarter pipe.
And *do not* fall down on the stuff -- massive carpet burn.

What do you think about a real mountain [even a small one] like Mountain Creek or Camelback, or even Hidden
Valley in Jersey?? a place with Chairlifts should they try this???

I live down the road from MC and HV and I would probably give it a try. I think I would rather go to Xanadu in the summer if it ever really opens, just because it would be cold and real (manmade) snow. I really dislike heat.
