Went to this today, first time in years since I've gone to one of these. Donny Pelletier was there and did a little talk. Not only is that guy interesting but seems like a genuine nice guy.

Any free stuff like the old days of the Boston ski show?Went to this today, first time in years since I've gone to one of these. Donny Pelletier was there and did a little talk. Not only is that guy interesting but seems like a genuine nice guy.
Used to be ticket give aways and 2 fer 1’s or good discounts.Yes but I pretty much looked quickly then listened to the speakers. The free stuff was minor like wipe on wax and stickers and other small items. Plenty of raffles to enter.
I miss those days.Used to be ticket give aways and 2 fer 1’s or good discounts.
I have to think that EPIC and IKON (and to some extent Indy) have killed ticket deals. Most folks already know where they are skiing and riding BEFORE the show. That is a big change. I remember that they would be offering a lot of ski and ride packages.I went this year. Usually go every year. The giveaways and ticket deals are minimal now. Not sure why. I liked the old days when I used to score some deals on gear and tickets at this.
I was hoping to find some ticket deals to bridge the gap on my pass blackout dates. Nothing that interesting/good for ticket deals. Killington was offering a $145 lift ticket "deal" at the show, marked down from $159. Boyne was offering a 3 pack for $365, non-transferable and could only be used by 1 person. That's some examples of the "deals" being offered. Nothing where I went; "wow, that's a deal". I used to say that pretty frequently when I went to this thing. Not so much anymore.
I wasn't looking for any gear but I did a loop through the gear area just to check it out. There were some OK discounts. But again - nothing that interesting or good.
Huge lines all day long to get a signed poster and picture taken with Donny. It was a cool event but as others have said not much in giveaways. Some lodging promotions but not much else. Lots of people buying new gear. Next year its at Mohegan Sun which is the only reason I would attend again.Went to this today, first time in years since I've gone to one of these.
