In Appalachia yesterday, I went up Snyder Brook to Brookside Trail. The bridge at the Randolph Path/Inlook Trail junction is completely washed away! The pressure treated dbl 4" x 16" x 24' beams were ripped from their airplane cable anchors and sent 100's of feet down the brook. The 2"x 6" flooring are debris scattered from the anchor point past Appalachia. The wall of water, ice floes and wood debris that broke out the Snyder Brook days ago were at least 6 ft higher than normal. One can rock hop across now.
I then walked to the the Memorial (Coldbrook) Bridge crossing and it is safe and sound. Even ice floes there were resting 6' up the banks.
