Big feet need big socks

***I made a random stop at the Lorpen North America booth to bother Bruce Barrows and find out why his company’s socks are better than all the others. The answer, of course, was in the Material (Tri Layer – a revolution in comfort technology), fit (common sense design for your feet) and Stop Odor Elimination Technology. I had a bone to pick with the sock people, and Bruce, who is based in Vermont, shed some light on what I believed to be a sock-maker conspiracy. I’ve got size 13 feet, and you know what they say about guys with big feet . . they need big socks. Whenever I go to buy ski socks, the largest I can find are made for sized 9-12 feet. Companies say they make the XL size, but I never see them stocked in stores, so I end up buying the 9-12 size, and after a while the big toe pokes through. And that means I’ve got to buy more socks. I learned from Bruce that it’s not the sock manufactures behind the conspiracy; Bruce had plenty of XL sized socks on display. It’s the retail stores that sell the product to the public that aren’t stocking the plus size. Just another form of discriminate against us big foots.

So I suppose the moral is: buy direct from the manufacturer. And no, I'm not Griff, nor do I know him, nor do I have size 13s; I just thought you might be interested.
